One-third of Rumanian Jews Declare Yiddish As Their As Their Mother Tongue in National Census

Approximately one-third of Rumania’s Jewish Population –138, 795 Jew–declared that their mother tongue is Yiddish, according to the results of a national census released here today. The census figures for the total number of persons who declared their nationality as Jewish have not yet been released.
