Bevin May Explain to Parliament Today Reason for Sending New British Troops to Palestine

Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin is expected to make a statement explaining the reason for dispatching British troops from Cyprus and Malta to Palestine when he opens a two-day Parliamentary debate on foreign policy tomorrow, Meanwhile, speculation is increasing concerning the possibilities that the move foreshadows a change in British plans to surrender the Palestine Mandate May 15.

Reports in the local press explain the unexpected move as the result of a plea by Palestine High Commissioner Sir Alan G.
