A group of 39 Jewish war orphans arrived in Halifax today aboard the S.S. Sobeiski. This now brings to 547 the number of Jewish orphans the Canadian Jewish Congress has brought to this country under the terms of a permit granted it by the Dominion providing for the admission of 1,000 Jewish youngsters.

Max Federman, well-known Jewish labor leader, will leave for Europe shortly in connection with a project to bring to Canada 500 fur workers from displaced persons camps. The Canadian Government has previously extended permission for the admission of DP furriers.
