Establishment of the state of Israel in Tel Aviv touched off a wave of rejoicing and celebrations throughout the Jewish community of Rumania. Following the hoisting of a Jewish flag Friday at midnight, crowds gathered and danced, and cheered in the streets of Bucharest and other cities. The festivities continued all the next day and today.
