All religious education in the municipal Schools here was banned today by an order of Circuit Judge Grover Watson. This marked the final victory for Mrs. Vashti McCollum, of this community, who carried the fight against religious instruction in public schools to the Supreme Court, which ruled that such education was unconstitutional. The writ also prohibits the “use of the State’s public school machinery to enroll pupils in religious classes.”
