After making their way through snow-covered fields and frozen rivers, a group of about 50 Hungarian Jews reached the Austrian frontier today. Some of them crossed into the British zone while others proceeded to Vienna.

The number of non-Jews fleeing from Hungary has also been increasing during the last few days. Most of the Jewish and non-Jewish refugees report that they made about forty miles on foot in deep snow, helped by professional guides to whom they paid large sums of money to bring them to the Austrian border.
