Gen, Clay Voices Assurance That “oliver Twist” Will Not Be Shown in U.S. Zone of Germany

An assurance by General Lucius D. Clay, U.S. Commander in Europe, that the British film “Oliver Twist,” to which Jews take objection, will not be shown in the U.S. zone of Germany was transmitted today by the State Department to the World Jewish Congress here. The State Department also informed the Congress that dissemination of the anti-Semitic, Geruan-language periodical “Neue Politik” has been prohibited in the U.S. zone. The periodical is published in Switzerland.
