Jewish Refugees in Three Italian Government Camps to Be Transferred to I.r.o. Centers

All Jewish refugees in the Farfa Sabina, Fraschette and Lipari DP camps, which have been under the supervision of the Italian Government, will be transferred to International Refugee Organization centers shortly, it was announced here today.

Approximately 7,500 displaced Jews monthly will be permitted to pass through the Trani Embarkation Center en route to Israel, according to an agreement reached here between the I.R.O. and the Joint Distribution Committee. To provide additional recommendations for the transient DP’s, all ORT installations now located in Trani will be moved cut by July 1.

Jewish welfare agencies have set up a children’s-center at Mercatello, located near Salerno; for displaced children from Tripolitania. The center offers educational and physical training courses to the youngsters.
