The S.S. Transylvania will sail from a Rumanian port tomorrow with 460 Jewish passengers. Although the vessel’s destination was not disclosed, it is assumed the passengers are on route to Israel, They include 220 Czech Jews who were permitted to travel through Rumania, 118 Rumanian Jews, 45 members of the Bulgarian Jewish colony in Bucharest, and others. The Transylvania’s sailing marks the break in a long-existing ban on the emigration of Jews from this country.
