British Home Secretary Voices Concern over Attacks on Jews; Will Press Inquiry

Home Secretary James Chuter Ede said in Parliament last night that he would institute an inquiry into allegations that British police who have been attending Fascist meetings in the East End section of London are openly anti-Semitic and pro-Fascist. He made this statement in reply to questions put to him by a number of MP’s.

Disclosing that there have been 55 cases of violence against Jews this year which resulted in 33 arrests, Mr. Eje declared: “I am gravely concerned over these assaults.” He added that police authorities are attempting to ascertain not only who is responsible for the attacks but also who are the inciters.
