For the first time in 30 years, a new “Chacham”–a Sephardic Rabbi–was installed in the Sephardic Bevismarks Synagogue today. Among those who attended the induction of Dr. Salomon Gaon as “Chacham” were Israel Minister to Britain, Dr. Mordecal Eliash; British Chief Rabbi Dr. Israel Brodie; the representatives of the Dutch Embassy as well as of every section of British Jewry.
