Seven Rumanian policemen were sentenced today to varying terms of imprisonment for ill-treating Jewish deportees in the Rumanian-held sector of the Ukraine during the war. The defendants, whose sentences range from 10 to 25 years, pleaded that they had committed the crimes listed against them under direct orders from their commander, who previously was sentenced to life imprisonment.
