The Chief Rabbinate of Istanbul today reported that ties between the Jewish community in this country and Jewish communities and organizations abroad since the end of World War II have become much closer. The report noted that during this period links have also been formed among the various Jewish communities in all parts of Turkey.

Plans to send students interested in studying for the rabbinate to training seminaries overseas were also disclosed. The report added that during recent years the observance of religious traditions in Turkey has diminished.
