The question of whether to reestablish the Sanhedrin or not was discussed at the opening of a national rabbinical conference here today. The perley will also discuss various organtizational matters.

The major confliet during the parley is expected to develop between the foress represented by Rabbi Judah L. Maimon, Minister for Religion, and Chief Rabbi Issac Herzog, The former favors immediate reorganization of the ancient Jewish couns oil. He is also pressing for a compaign within the Israel Governement to obtain greater rabbinical control over matters affecting marriage and inberitance. Rabbi Herzog is said to agree in principle that the Sanbedrin should be convened, but advocates that the rabbis of the ontire world be consulted first.
