Britain would consider selling arms to Israel if the Jewish state and its neighbors settled their outstanding points of conflict, it was stated here today in authoritative quarters.
The same quarters stated that there is no danger of an immediate resumption of hostilities as a result of British arms shipments to the Arabs. Stressing Britain’s role in facilitating the Israel-Transjordan negotiations, they said that a peace settlement must include a solution of the Jerusalem problem, exact deliniation of joint boundaries and a solution of the Arab refugee problem.
