The deficit of the Hebrew University last year totalled $1,680,000, it was reported here today by Sir Leon Simon, chairman of the University’s board of governors, in an address to the board.
Prof. Selig Brodetsky, president of the University, pointed out that the continued growth of the institution “means that even when the University returns to Mt. Scopus, it will still be necessary to maintain an additional building in Jerusalem proper, since the number of students is expected to increase to 3,000 in the next two years.”
