Respect for the rights of the child–for his mental, physical and spiritual welfare–has been part of Jewish tradition through the ages, Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith, told an audience of more than 20,000 persons attending dedication ceremonies of the $1,500,000 House of God here.
Speaking as the representative of the Jewish faith, Mr. Goldman cited parallels between Talmudic teachings and the principles embodied in the United Nations draft Declaration of the Rights of the Child. Dr. Daniel Poling of Baptist Temple, Philadelphia, spoke for the Protestants and Father Nicholas Wegner of Omaha, head of Boy’ Town, for the Catholics.
