A decision to extend a permanent invitation to the Arab League to send representatives to the sessions of the United Nations as observers was adopted late yesterday by the U.N. General Assembly.
Israel was the only delegation to vote against the proposal, which was submitted by Syria. The Soviet group, with five votes, abstained from voting. The proposal was adopted after 49 countries voted in favor of sending an invitation to the Arab League.
