Israel Independence Day celebrations were held throughout the United Kingdom today and will continue throughout the week. In London, Captain R.G. Chetwynd, who recently visited Israel as a member of the British parliamentary delegation, told a Zionist celebration that he considered Israel the “only stable and progressive democratic regime in the Middle East.” E.B. Wakefield, conservative member of the delegation, told the assembly he believed in the ultimate success of Israel.
