Coordinating Committee for Israel’s Bond Drive and the U.J.A. Formed in New York

The formation of a coordinating committee on behalf of the State of Israel Bond Issue and the United Jewish Appeal was announced here today, following the first meeting of this committee which was devoted to organizational purposes. The meeting was held in the office of Mr. Henry Mergenthen, Jr. chairman of the Board of Governors of the American Financial and Development Corporation for Israel.

Announcement that such a committee will be formed was made last week by Eliezer Kaplan, Israel’s Finance Minister, prior to his departure from the United States. The Committee is composed of Herry Morgenthau, Jr., Edward M.M. Warburg, Rudolf G. Sommebern, Dr. Alum Goldmann, Henry Mentor, Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz; Julian B. Varesky, and Morris Berinstein.
