A new cost of living agreement, under which some workers’ salaries will rise a maximum of 10.5 pounds per month, was signed here today by representatives of the Histadrut and the Manufacturers Association of Israel.
After signing, the manufacturers’ representatives issued a statement warning the government against the continued rise in living costs which, they said, endangered all budgets and threatened the country’s economy and its plans to halt the inflation.
The cost of living index in Israel rose another seven points during June, it was announced here. The index now stands at 157, compared with 100 in September, 1951.
