President’s Commission on Immigration Holds Hearings in Boston

Rep. John F. Kennedy today termed the McCarran-Walter Omnibus Immigration Bill “un-American and discriminatory” in testimony before the Presidential Commission on Immigration and Naturalization which opened hearings here. Rep. Kennedy said the McCarran quota system “is not based on the merits of the applicant for entry but on his nationality.”
