Israel Mission Starts Operations in Germany on Reparations

The Israel purchasing mission here with its staff now at full strength became fully operational today. The mission will place orders with German firms for goods to be shipped to Israel as reparations payments.

Large-scale shipment of industrial goods to Israel must, however, await certain German regulations concerning the implementation of the Luxemburg agreement. These are expected to be worked out by a German-Israel Commission which will hold its first meeting in the middle of the month.

According to the terms of the Luxemburg agreement a Mixed Commission can be convened by either party to deal with all questions and any difficulties which arise in connection with the carrying out of the pact.
