A decision that all members of the Israel Cabinet must reside in Jerusalem was reiterated today at a meeting of the Cabinet. It was decided to provide flats in Jerusalem as soon as possible for those members of the Cabinet who do not reside in the city because of lack of accommodations. A similar decision was also taken with regard to members of the Supreme Court.

Following this decision, instructions were issued to the respective government departments to find adequate accommodations in Jerusalem for members of the Cabinet and the Supreme Court “without delay.” Several members of the Cabinet have been spending most of the week in Jerusalem while their families reside in Tel Aviv owing to lack of dwellings in Jerusalem.

The establishment of a special Ministry for Jerusalem was demanded in the Knesset this week-end by Benjamin Mintz, Poale Agudah leader.
