The Israel Branch of the Alliance Israelite Universelle was formally opened here last night at a ceremony attended by Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett and a number of other Cabinet members.
Mr. Sharett, addressing the assemblage, praised the Alliance for its pioneer work in agriculture and in reviving the Hebrew language in many areas of the world including Palestine. The Israel Committee for the Alliance is headed by Minister of Education Ben Zion Dinur, while Zalman Shazar, Jewish Agency member, is vice-president.
