Jewish Immigrants Demonstrate in Brazil; Ask Return to Israel

Jewish immigrants brought to Brazil from Germany during the past six weeks in the liquidation of the Foehrenwald camp “returnees” situation, have been demonstrating in Sao Paulo and demanding their transfer to Israel.

The “returnees”–DP’s released from Nazi concentration camps who returned to Germany after their transfer to Israel, and brought here from Germany–now insist on returning to Israel.

Dr. Moses Kahan, president of the Sao Paolo Jewish federation, arrived here today to discuss the situation with representatives of the Joint Distribution Committee and the HIAS.
