Israel’s former Premier David Ben Gurion has been awarded the newly-established “Heinrich Stahl Cultural Prize,” it was announced by Heinz Galinski, president of the Jewish community, at a meeting commemorating the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.
The prize, which the Berlin Jewish Community plans to bestow annually, carries with it the equivalent of $500. It is named after the courageous Jewish leader who headed the Berlin Community during the Nazi regime.
