The Israel Medical Association today set June 1 as the date of a new strike of doctors employed on a salary basis by the government and various national institutions. The Histadrut-sponsored Physicians Council has decided to oppose the strike call.
Instead, the council proposed that the doctors accept the Histadrut’s proposal that a public commission be established to study the doctors’ working conditions and to recommend salary increases.
