There has been a substantial increase in Hebrew language and cultural activities in the United States, and particularly in the New York area, it was reported here last night at the closing sessions of the national conference of Histadrut Ivrith, the Hebrew culture organization.

The reports emphasized that this progress was to a great extent made possible by the cooperation and support of the Jewish Agency’s Department of Education and Culture. The work of Histadrut Ivrith was hailed in a speech at the convention by Avraham Harmon, Israel Consul General in New York. The organization’s new presidium, elected last night, consists of: Dr. Samuel L. Blumenfield, Dr. Samuel K. Mir sky, and Morris B. Newman.
