Israel Military Attache Honored in Washington; Returns to Israel

Col. Chaim Herzog, Israel military, air, and naval attache has been honored here by top military authorities and diplomatic officials, of the United States and other nations on the eve of his departure for Israel.

Farewell affairs have been tendered in Col. Herzog’s honor by the U.S. Army General Staff, the Air Force, the Naval Staff, and a number of foreign embassies representing European and Asiatic nations. Other functions were tendered him by Gen. William Riley, deputy director of the Foreign Operations Administration, who formerly headed the United Nations truce machinery in Israel, and by others including Ambassador Abba Eban. These functions have been attended’ by high ranking officers.
