Walter Reuther, president of the Congress of Industrial Organization, who arrived here last night on a visit to Israel as the guest of Histadrut, the Israel labor Federation, said today that “if Israel is invaded, no matter from what side, the people of Israel have the right and the moral obligation to stand up and fight for it”

In a comment on proposals by Secretary of State John Foster Dulles for an Arab Israel settlement, Mr. Reuther said that they deserved “sympathetic consideration.”

E H. Williams of the American Federation of Labor, said here that it would be the task of every member of the 10-man AFL-CIO delegation which completed a tour of Israel today, to seek, on his return to the United States, to influence the American Government to make peace between Israel and the Arabs
