The “freedom of Jerusalem” was extended to Rabbi Judah L. Maimon, octogenerian scholar and leader of religious Jewry, in a ceremony in which President Itzhak Ben Zvi and Jewish Agency co-chairman Berl Locker participated.
Mayor Gershon Agron presented Rabbi Maimon with a parchment scroll containing a resolution of the city council giving him the freedom of the city.
