The thirtieth anniversary convention of Hapoel–Israel sports organization–came to a close this week-end with a mass gymnastic performance in the Ramat Gan Stadium. More than 6,000 members of Hapoel who had participated in the week-long activities were joined at the final ceremony by President Itzhak Ben Zvi. Cabinet members, members of the Knesset and foreign diplomats.

The final celebration saw various gymnastic feats performed by members of Hapoel’s 300 Israeli branches. Haifa members performed naval gymnastics, while those from Jerusalem presented ceremonies designed to symbolize Israel’s current situation–“one had working while the other holds a spear.” Prizes were awarded to athletes who had distinguished themselves in various activities during the week.
