Israel Ambassador Yakov Tsur conferred with French Foreign Minister Christian Pineau for 40 minutes today on the current Middle East situation. It was their first meeting since Mr. Tsur returned to Paris from his vacation.

While no details of the discussion were given, it is understood that M. Pineau reaffirmed the fact that France insists that freedom of navigation should be maintained through the Suez Canal for all nations, without exception.
