The Jerusalem Post, published by Gershon Agron now the Mayor of Jerusalem–today marked its 25th anniversary as the first English-language newspaper in his country. It published a special supplement including messages of congratulations and articles recalling milestones in the paper’s history.

Founded by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency as the Palestine Bulletin, the newspaper later became known as the Palestine Post and, when the State of Israel was established. as the Jerusalem Post. Messages from President Ben Zvi and Premier Ben Gurion paid tribute to the Post’s achievements through the years and its acting as a “show window” for Jewish achievements in the Jewish homeland.
