Two German correspondents who apparently inadvertently crossed into Jordan when they left their Elath hotel for a stroll about the Gulf of Akaba port are safe and sound in the hands of Jordanian authorities, Israeli officials learned today.
The couple. Hans Germany of the Hamburg newspaper Der Spiegel and Miss Helgard Regina Otto, a German journalism student, will be handed over to the Israeli authorities tonight at the Mandelbaum Gate here. They had not been heard from for several days after leaving their possessions in the hotel and disappearing.
