The Federal Ministry of Justice has put its support behind a proposal to set up a central commission to investigate crimes committed against Jews and others in the Nazi concentration camps, It was reported here today.
The proposal was recently made by Erich Nellman, Attorney General of the State of Wuerttemberg, who suggested that such a body be placed directly under the jurisdiction of the Federal Attorney General’s office. Herr Nellman outlined, in an interview with the Stuttgart Zeltung, a structure with a separate police force and legal staff to insure speedy and efficient investigations.
Herr Nelliman declared that German justice “should not permit (Nazi) murderers and their henchmen, who in part have been re-employed by the state, to go unpunished. “
