The Austrian Government will withdraw its permission for an international congress at Salzburg of groups composed of veterans of Nazi organizations, it was announced today by H. Grubhofer, Under Secretary of State Jewish and non-Jewish anti-Nazi organizations had protested to the government earlier granting of permission to hold the meeting and had pointed out that violence might easily result if the Nazis met at Salzburg.

Meanwhile, Herr Grubhofer also declared that the Austrian Government would not tolerate a revival of “pre-1945 methods” by a so-called National Youth Movement. In recent weeks the group has plastered walls and buildings in this and other Austrian cities with swastikas and similar Nazi symbols and slogans.
