Air Commodore I.C. Cornblat, 43, a native of this city, was approved by the Dominion Cabinet here for promotion to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and Comptroller of the Royal Canadian Air Force. In his new post, Marshal Cornblat will supervise the management of all funds spent by the RCAF.
The new Vice Marshal is a Jew. His promotion places him in the highest rank held by any Jew in any of the armed forces in the entire British Commonwealth.
