Senate Gets Bill to Abolish National Origins Quota in Immigration

Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey, Minnesota Democrat, today proposed legislation to abolish the national origins quota system under U.S. immigration laws.

“There should be a unified quota system which would allocate visas without regard to national origin, race, creed or color,” Sen. Humphrey declared.
