Charles H. Jordan, overseas director-general of tie Joint Distribution Committee, was decorated here by the French Government in recognition of his humanitarian services. He was made a member of the Legion d’Honneur a France.
Mr. Jordan joined the JDC in 1941. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, rejoining the JDC in 1945. He supervised JDC welfare programs in the Caribbean area and the Far East. In 1951 he was named assistant director-general, and succeeded to his present post in December, 1955.
