Russian persecutions are continuing, despite denials being made by Moscow, according to reports published here today by the Jerusalem Post.
The Post cites an article in the Russian newspaper, Sovietskaya Moldavia, appearing last July 23, reporting that several elderly Jews were arrested recently in Moldavia on charges of “habitual insobriety” because, each Saturday evening, they followed the ancient “Havdalah” tradition of drinking from a glass of wine as part of the ceremony observing the end of the Jewish Sabbath.
