Yehuda Shuval, Hillel Foundation Director, Dies in Israel

Yehuda Shuval, director of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation in Jerusalem and a veteran American Zionist, died in his weekend cottage at Ashkelon at the age of 61.

Mr. Shuval emigrated to Israel from New York in 1947. He served as director of the English-speaking department of the Keren Hayesod for ten years. Before coming to Israel, he was chairman of the joint Hadassah-Zionist Organization of America committee for youth affairs. He was also active in the field of Hebrew education and devised modern methods for teaching Hebrew which were used by the Israel broadcasting services.
