Oregon Gives Two-year Deadline to Fraternities to End Discrimination

Download PDF for this date

College fraternities and sororities in Oregon’s six state-owned colleges were today given a two-year deadline to end religious and racial discrimination or face withdrawal of recognition by the state Board of Higher Education.

The board, which announced the January 1, 1963 deadline, said that only a few fraternities and sororities still have restrictions against minority groups.
