Dr. Israel Beer, former high officer of the Israel Army charged with espionage, testified today in his trial as the sole witness for the defense. He denied reports that he was a Gentile but confirmed other reports that he had not taken part in the Spanish civil war and that he had deliberately spread that falsehood.
