Max A. Braude, director-general of the World Ort Union, declared today that inadequate financing of the Ort schools in Israel was depriving hundreds of Israeli youth of a vocational education. This is happening at a time when skilled workers and technicians are in particularly great demand as a consequence of the country’s rapid industrial expansion, Mr. Braude stated.

Mr. Braude has arrived here from Geneva for discussions concerning the financing of the more than 600 trade schools and other training facilities which Ort conducts in 19 countries. He will confer with leaders of American Ort and the Joint Distribution Committee.
