The board of governors of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology today adopted a regular budget for the institution totaling 15,500,000 pounds ($5,167, 000) along with a development budget of 11,000, 000 pounds ($3, 667, 000) for the expansion of the Technion campus on Mount Carmel.
Alexander Goldberg, an executive of the Fertilizers and Chemicals Corporation of Haifa, was elected chairman of the board at the conclusion of the board’s weeklong meeting here attended by Technion governors from Israel, the United States, Britain, Canada and South Africa. Mr. Goldberg succeeds Israeli Supreme Court Justice Moshe Landau who served in the post for six years.
