When the new Canadian House of Commons convenes, it will have the largest number of Jewish members in the history of Canada, four Jewish candidates having won in the recent national election.
They are Leon D. Crestohl, who was re-elected as a Liberal member for Montreal-Cartier, which he has represented for the past 12 years; David Lewis, national vice-president of the New Democratic Party, elected for Toronto York South; Herbert Grey, a Liberal, who was elected in Essex West, Windsor; and David Orlikow of the New Democratic Party, who was elected in Winnipeg North.
