The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Philadelphia today called upon the city’s law enforcement agencies to take appropriate action to prevent the unlawful picketing, breaches of the peace and incitement to riot on the part of such groups as the followers of George Lincoln Rockwell and his American Nazi Party.

A statement setting forth the position of the JCRC was drafted and adopted by the Council’s board of directors, after consultation and study with prominent lawyers expert in constitutional and criminal law. It points out that the demonstrations of the self-styled Nazis are designed to taunt, insult and provoke, and that such activities are illegal, as they constitute the crime of inciting to riot.
