Dr. Nahum Goldmann told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today that the late President Ben-Zvi was “more than just a President in the eyes of the Jewish nation and in the eyes of millions of non-Jews.
“He symbolized the highest characteristic of the Jewish nation in its homeland–devotion and a modest and human approach to all citizens of the state and to each citizen in particular. He was therefore beloved by all of us,” Dr. Goldmann said.
